Police make castle chick theft arrest

POLICE have arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of the theft of three kestrel chicks which have still not been found.

The man, who has been released on bail pending further enquiries, was arrested after three chicks were stolen from their nest in the keep of Conisbrough Castle on Thursday, June 13, between 2pm and 2.40pm.

A police spokeswoman said that forced entry was gained and damage was caused to an upper window of the castle keep where the chicks had been nesting.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police quoting incident number 712 of June 13.
