Police arrest Goldthorpe murder suspect

POLICE investigating the death of a man in Goldthorpe have arrested a suspect.

Officers picked up the 29-year-old man on suspicion of murdering Andrew Kelly (51) on Wednesday, December 2.

Mr Kelly was discovered by officers called to a house on Victoria Street.

The suspect, who is also accused of robbery, remains in police custody.

The results of a postmortem examination on Mr Kelly were inconclusive, but his death is being treated as suspicious, a police spokesman said.

Mr Kelly’s family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
