Police appeal following road crash death

POLICE want to hear from a man who stopped and spoke to a wounded car crash victim before leaving the scene for an appointment.

The appeal comes after the injured 58-year-old woman died in hospital, two weeks after the collision near the Rotherway Roundabout.

The woman was driving a red Peugeot 206 at around 7.50pm on Friday, December 14 when she hit the back of a grey Seat Altea, which is thought to have stalled on Rotherway as it approached the traffic island.

Police believe that the rushed man — whose small, silver car was not involved in the collision — may have seen what happened.

Officers urge anyone with information about the collision or events leading to it to call them on 101, quoting incident number 1056 of December 14.
