Pensioner suffers broken ribs in Brampton Bierlow car robbery

A PENSIONER suffered serious injuries including broken ribs when two men robbed his car from his driveway.

The victim, in his 80s, parked his silver Vauxhall Meriva and got out to open his garage door shortly after 4.30pm on January 21.

Two men got into the car and drove off — knocking the pensioner to the ground with one of the open doors on Garden Drive, Brampton Bierlow.

The car was found burned out in Kendray the following day.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers have carried out extensive enquiries and are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“Anyone with information which could assist with our enquiries is asked to report it by calling 101, live chat or our online portal, quoting incident number 573 of January 21.
