Paramedics treat man after house fire

A MAN was treated for the effects of breathing smoke after a house fire in Thurnscoe.

Firefighters from Dearne and Adwick stations were called to John Street shortly after 6am today (Mon 5).

The man, believed to be in his 60s, was seen by paramedics at the scene.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.

Meanwhile, two commercial bins were set on fire by arsonists at Holmes on Friday night.

Crews from Rotherham station attended Hartington Road at about 10.30pm.
