Motorcyclist killed following collision with car

A MOTORCYCLIST was killed in a collision with a car on the A630 Doncaster Road, Conisbrough.

The 45-year-old man from Conisbrough died after the crash near the junction with Milner Gate at around 7.40pm on Sunday.

Police say a brown Vespa Piaggio motor scooter was travelling on Doncaster Road towards Doncaster. At the junction with Milner Gate a vehicle on the near side of the motorcycle turned left into the junction.

It is believed that a silver Volkswagen Polo, driven by a 62-year-old woman, pulled out of the junction turning right and into the path of the motorcycle.

The motor bike rider came off his motorcycle and suffered fatal head and chest injuries.

The woman, also from Conisbrough, was not injured.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner of driving and riding of the vehicles prior to the incident is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 1056 of October 7.
