Meadowhall Oasis cleared as firefighters tackle blaze
PART of a busy shopping centre had to be evacuated when fire broke out in the kitchen of an Indian restaurant.
Fire fighters entered Shere Khan, in the Meadowhall Shopping’s Oasis food court, at 10.20am yesterday and extinguished the blaze using a water-filled back pack after smoke from the fire forced the evacuation.
One man in his 30s, believed to be a member of the restaurant’s staff, was taken to hospital as a precaution suffering from smoke inhalation.
