Machete attack after thieves attempt to steal car and French bull dog

The 28 year-old got into his car on Briery Walk, Greasbrough, before two thieves opened the passenger door and tried to steal his French bulldog

A MAN was attacked with a machete by thieves who attempted to steal his car and pet dog. 

A police spokesperson said: “It is reported the man prevented the dog from being taken.

“A second man approached the victim through the passenger door before taking his car keys and threatening him with a machete.”

Police said the men then assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene in a black Seat Leon up Munsbrough Rise.

The victim was left with facial injuries as a result of the incident.

One of the men is described as white, approximately 5ft 9ins tall with a bald head and a large build.

The second man is described as white, of a large build, with short black hair and a short black beard. 

A spokesperson for the police said: “If you can help, please contact us using our live chat, online portal or by calling 101 quoting incident number 961 of September 2.”
