Horse attack woman in improving condition

A WOMAN thrown from her horse when it was pelted with stones is no longer in a life-threatening condition.

A police spokeswoman said this week that the 28-year-old from Thurcroft remained in intensive care at Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital but was no longer critically unwell.

The woman, who has not been named, was riding her horse on a track near Duke of Norfolk Lane, Wickersley at about 5.45pm on May 17.

A group of three or four youths threw stones at the animal, causing it to rear up and unseat its rider.

Police are trying to trace the suspects and urge witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
