Gun and knife crime advice at school assembly

ARMED police officers intercepted a high school assembly to give a vital lesson to youngsters about gun and knife crime.

Authorised firearms officers from South Yorkshire Police’s firearms support group visited Dinnington Comprehensive as part of its Guns and Knives Take Lives tour.

Pupils were given a visually impactive, interactive and thought-provoking presentation by the officers in a bid to further reduce the number of youth-related incidents in the region involving guns and knives.

The police said the tour was a combination of prevention, intervention and education and had achieved considerable success.
