Fresh appeal for witnesses in Thrybergh shooting investigation

DETECTIVES investigating the shooting at Thrybergh a week ago are keen to trace three women who could be key witnesses.

Emergency services were called after a man was shot while getting out of a white Range Rover Evoque in the car park beside the village’s working men’s club.

The victim remains in hospital following the incident on Hollings Lane at about 7.20pm last Friday but no arrests have been made.

Det Insp Chris Ronayne, from the armed crime team, said: “I am grateful to the local community for their support and patience while officers have been in the area.

“Enquiries so far have revealed three key witnesses that we really want to trace and speak to. We believe they may have seen the shooting or the events leading up to the shooting.

“One of the witnesses is a white woman with long blonde hair, who was walking two small dogs along Hollings Lane. She was walking away from the club and alongside the car park shortly before the shooting.

“Two more women were walking past the club car park, in the direction of the club, and they could hold vital information.

“Both women are white, one was wearing a long blue coat with dark trousers or leggings and wearing glasses. The other was wearing an orange top and dark leggings.

“If you were in the area at the time, and you haven’t yet spoken to us, please get in touch. We also remain keen to hear from anyone with CCTV, video doorbell or dashcam footage that may be of use to the investigation.”
