Five arrested for attempted murder after East Herringthorpe brawl

South Yorkshire Police were called to a disturbance in Laudsdale Road at about 10.30pm on Saturday (18).

A 51-year-old man suffered serious stab wounds and was taken to hospital, where he remained in a serious condition this afternoon (Monday).

A second man — aged 21 — also suffered serious injuries. He was still in hospital in a stable condition today.

Five men — aged 36, 34, 31, 28 and 21 — were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A force spokeswoman said the 28-year-old and 34-year-old have been released on police bail.

The others face no further action against them, she added, and enquiries are ongoing.
