Emergency services called to reports of men fighting on Wellgate

A MAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries and another found with stab wounds following a brawl on Wellgate.

Emergency services were called at about 10.10pm on Wednesday (29) after receiving reports of fighting.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“It is understood that another man was found nearby with suspected stab wounds, which are not thought to be serious. 

“Roads were closed in the local area to allow officers to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.”
