Cops tackle 200 incidents during England game

WHILE you were watching the England match last night South Yorkshire Police dealt with over 200 incidents.

These ranged from criminal damage in Rotherham, fighting at a property in Conisbrough and a drink driver in the town centre.

The force held a Twitterthon during the Group B England and Wales games and while Roy Hodgson’s men only managed a goalless draw, police officers around the region were kept busy over the 90 minutes.

Officers were also called to a suspected accidental house fire in Rotherham and there were several reports of domestic violence and rowdy behaviour.

As the final whistle blew, the force had recorded 1,352 incidents in 24 hours.
