CCTV released of armed robbery suspect

POLICE investigating an armed robbery issued have issued a CCTV image of their suspect.

POLICE investigating an armed robbery issued have issued a CCTV image of  their suspect.

The robbery took place at around 4.35pm on Wednesday when a man entered a travel agents on Bridgegate in the town centre and threatened staff with a knife to open the safe and give him cash.

He fled the scene with a substantial amount of money, running up Bridgegate towards All Saints’ Square. Police want to identify and speak to the man.

Officers would ask anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image, or if anyone witnessed the incident, to please call 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 1327 of July 16.
