A WOMAN In her 20s was taken to hospital after a kitchen fire which left her home full of thick smoke.

Firefighters from Rotherham Fire Station used industrial fans to clear the property on Leicester Road, Dinnington, at around 7.30pm last night.

A fire brigade spokeswoman said: “It seems that the lady had been cooking when her food had caught fire.

“Although the flames had gone out by the time crews attended work was undertaken to clear the property of smoke.

“A lady in her 20s was taken to hospital as a precaution due to smoke inhalation.”

Firefighters were at the property for around 30 minutes in total.
