One of the men demanded that a member of staff open a door to allow access behind a counter protected by security screening.

But he kicked the door until the door frame gave way, allowing the robbers to get behind the counter.

A police spokesman said: “He asked the member of staff to put the money in a bag, which they did and he then left the premises with the other man who was holding the door open.

“The men left with approximately £4,000 in cash.”

Police have not revealed what kind of a weapon the men had, but they have iissued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.
