Arsonists strike in Mexborough
A LARGE amount of timber was set on fire next to a working men’s club on Thursday morning.

Firefighters from Edlington and Dearne stations were called to North Gate, Mexborough, at about 1.40am.

Hide AdThe fire had spread to a fence but no buildings were affected. A service spokeswoman confirmed the cause was deliberate.
Later, firefighters cut free a driver after his VW Caddy overturned in Sprotbrough.
Crews were called to Northfield Road at about 2.30am and the motorist, in his 20s, was taken to hospital.
