Arson probe after Dearne Valley warehouse blaze

ONLINE retailer ASOS was back online this morning — two days after a fire ripped through its Dearne Valley warehouse

South Yorkshire Police are now treating the incident at the depot near Little Houghton arson after initial investigations were carried out this morning with South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

Asos started taking orders again at 2am today.

In a statement, Asos said the fire had affected about 20 per cent of the stock held at the site.

After closing down its online site Asos said: “Fortunately nobody was hurt but we are unable to take any orders until we can ascertain the extent of the damage.”

Emergency services were called to the warehouse in Park Spring Road at around 10pm last night to reports of a blaze.

Around 500 workers were safely evacuated from the premises and nobody was injured.
