Arrest made after Eastwood attack

Eye-witnesses have described smashed-up cars and shop windows on Grosvenor Road where police were called at around 2pm today.

Grosvenor Road remains closed off along with parts of Fitzwilliam Road causing major congestion in Rotherham town centre.

It is understood that police apprehended a man in the car park at the town centre Tesco in relation to the incident shortly after.

Reports suggest the man attacked the victim with a knife.

Police remain on the scene and ask for anyone with information to contact 101.
