Armed robbers threaten Conisbrough shop staff

GUNMEN threatened store staff in Conisbrough before being forced to leave empty handed.

The attempted armed robbery took place at a newsagent’s on Micklebring Grove at around 5.40pm last Wednesday (April 23) when two men dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered entered the shop.

They are alleged to have threatened a woman, who was the only member of staff in the store, with a handgun and demanded cash.

The woman raised the alarm and the two men fled the store empty handed. Once outside, the two men are believed to have ran up Micklebring Grove and on to Maple Grove where they joined a third man also dressed in dark clothing.

All three men are then reported to have turned right on to Sycamore Grove and then got into a burgundy Citroen Saxo that was parked on the street and driven off towards Chestnut Grove.
