POLICE are asking for help to track down a person who tried to hold up a post office in Rotherham yesterday

POLICE are asking for help to track down a person who tried to hold up a post office on yesterday afternoon.

A person wearing a mask and carrying what could have been a handgun walked into Wingfield Post Office and demanded cash.

But the suspect went away empty-handed and may have left the area in a white van.

The incident happened at 2.55pm.

Witnesses to the incident, or anyone who saw a person acting suspiciously, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 554 of March 26.
