Crews tackle blaze for five hours

A BLAZE in a large amount of waste in an industrial unit took more than five hours to extinguish on Friday.

Two fire crews were called to the recycling site on Common Lane, Wath, at 6.55am and did not leave until 12.15pm.

There were no injuries and the cause was accidental.

A fire crew was called to the property on Conyers Drive, Aston, at 6.25pm and took just over half an hour to extinguish the flames.

The waste was in a wheely bin.
