Council pledges support for “100 apprentices” campaign

ROTHERHAM Borough Council has backed a scheme aimed at sending apprenticeship numbers soaring.

To mark, National Apprenticeship Week, the authority is celebrating the achievements of the 55 apprentices it has hired in the past year — and has pledged to help businesses in Rotherham sign up 100 new recruits in the next 100 days.

Council leader Cllr Chris Read said: “Apprenticeships are a fantastic way for businesses to recruit enthusiastic employees with practical skills and relevant qualifications.

“For apprentices, it is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in your chosen career and the learn directly from experienced professionals.”
