Council leader's thanks as Rotherham Views report is published

COUNCIL leader Chris Read has thanked the 1,800 residents who took part in Rotherham Borough Council’s biggest ever consultation.

There were 27 sessions where senior RMBC figures heard suggestions for future priorities plus a stall at the Rotherham Show.

The results were published yesterday and Cllr Read said: “After events over the last year in Rotherham, it was crucial we had this conversation to discuss how we can best move forward and how the council fulfils its role in the years to come.

“There is no doubt that we have some very tough decisions to make in the future but knowing what is most important to the community helps us to prioritise.”

Clean and tidy streets, a more welcoming town centre, children feeling happy and safe, and the need for more and better jobs were the main themes mentioned by residents.
