His funeral took place on Wednesday at St George’s Church in Woodsetts.

A collection was made for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and condolences group has been set up on Facebook, where hundreds of former students have joined up to pay their respects.

Kerry Beighton wrote: “There are only a few people in life that leave a lasting impression and stay in your memory for life and Mr Mosson was one of them.”

Sarah Bridger added: “I have such great memories of Mr Mosson and agree with the many other comments that there should be more teachers like him.”

And Amy Knight said: “Some teachers leave an impression forever and shape who you are, Mr Mosson was a true Wickersley legend.”
