Representatives from the local community met to decide priorities for funding, which included:

  1. Employment and training opportunities for all ages, but particularly among young people.
  2. Improving the town centre, as a place that everyone feels proud of.
  3. Positive activities for all ages and abilities, to ensure that all sections of the community live strong and healthy lives.
  4. Health awareness and wellbeing (alcohol issues and support to young people).
  5. Environment and personal responsibillity.

If a group can provide a project proposal that meets one or more of the above, they can apply for a grant, which starts at £250.

It can be used for the purchase of equipment, the costs of putting on a local event or workshop, training for volunteers, additional activities to expand an existing funded project, activities that support community activity or activities that meet an identified need in the local community.
