Classical Christmas concert comes to village church

A CHURCH will echo to the sounds of a classical concert in the last week before Christmas.

Classical tenor Gareth Lloyd is to perform alongside keyboard player Lewis Nitikman at a special candlelit concert at 14th Century St Peter's Church in Letwell on Saturday, December 18.

Gareth is co founder of Opera on Location which is dedicated to performing opera in unusual spaces, as well as musical director of the Easy Street Theatre Company.

His repertoire includes a wide-range of popular classical pieces and he has drawn praise in the past for his performance of Nessun Dorma.

Lewis, a regular visitor to the village with his song writing partner John Reilly, said the acoustics at St Peter’s guaranteed a night to remember, adding: “I’ve been to the church, and the acoustics are something quite special.

“Gareth’s voice is perfect for the space.”
