Clarkson puts his gloves on for Rotherham visit!

DISGRACED TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson returned to the borough this week hungry and looking for his next “fracas”.

The controversial former Top Gear host surprised shoppers when he pitched up on Market Place, Tickhill, outside D J Fenton Butchers in scarecrow form as part of the annual scarecrow festival.

Shop owner Carl Fenton and his team said they always liked to create a scarecrow every year for the festival that was topical.

The former Top Gear host hit the headlines recently after he assaulted a TV producer when he was left with no hot food on set.

Carl (44), from Tickhill, said: “We wanted to bring him home and give him a hot meal!”

Jezzacrow, as he was christened, came complete with a speech bubble that read: “Cold platter?!?! I wanted steak from Fentons!!!

“They have the best steak in the world.”

The team tweeted the real Jeremy a picture of Jezzacrow but he did not reply.

Carl said the shop was filled with customers and visitors to the village who thought the scarecrow was hilarious and they were highly commended for it by the judges.

Unfortunately nobody knocked the stuffing out of him and he is now residing in a shed.
