Chicken pox tot tragedy

A 12-month-old baby died suddenly following a bout of chicken pox, an inquest heard.

Lewis Peter Mullins, of Burns Road, Maltby, was taken to Rotherham General Hospital after he suffered a heart attack at home on April 2, but died shortly after arrival.

At Doncaster Coroner’s Court , coroner’s officer Jessica Cox-Tomlinson revealed that Lewis’ parents, Jodie Connelly and Andrew Mullins, had sought medical advice for the youngster in the three days before his death.

She confirmed: “He had been suffering from chicken pox.”

The Doncaster Coroner, Ms Nicola Mundy, adjourned the inquest.
