A procession of 40 of his fellow motorcyclists led his funeral cortege two weeks later and bikers clubbed together to raise a total of £1,114.

His family handed the money over to the Chris Jones Riders' Fund, which funds extra medical equpiment to save lives and treat the injured at race tracks.

Wayne, who lived in Whiston, was returning with the Sheffield Bikers' Group from a trip to Wales when he died after a collision with a car.

"Over 400 people attended the funeral service, with round 40 bikes leading him down to the crematorium—a fitting tribute to a wonderful guy.
