Chamber business awards shortlist announced

BUSINESSES big and small will be waiting with bated breath to find out if they are winners after making the shortlist of the region’s business awards.

The firms and individuals vying for honours in the 2016 Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards have been selected from more than 100 submissions in 11 categories.

The awards, organised by Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, will be handed out at a ceremony at Magna Science Adventure Centre on October 14.

As well as the categories, the overall Palmer Construction Business of the Year Award is up for grabs, as is the Charity of the Year and the annual Salute to Business presentations that celebrate the achievements of long-standing companies.

Chamber chief executive Andrew Denniff said: “This year the number of entries exceeded our expectations, but the increasing quality has meant shortlisting for our judges has made for some difficult decision making, even before the winners are selected.”
