Car fires in Rawmarsh and Conisbrough

A BMW was deliberately set alight in Conisbrough last night (Sunday).

Firefighters from Rotherham station were called to Kearsley Lane at 11.40pm and used a hose reel to quickly put the fire out, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

They left the scene at midnight.

Earlier, a crew from Edlington station attended an accidental car fire on the A1M southbound between junctions 37 and 36 at 11.15pm.

On Friday, crews also dealt with another accidental car blaze in Rawmarsh.

Firefighters from Dearne station were called to the blaze on Warren View at 8.10pm and spent 20 minutes tackling the fire, added the spokesperson.
