Can you help abandoned cats?

HEARTLESS owners abandoned two cats in a sealed cardboard box on the Trans Pennine Trail.

The mother and her weeks-old kitten were found and taken to Arncliffe vets in Wath.

Veterinary nurse Kath Malyan said: “We’ve had animals left in boxes before, but never when the box has been taped up so they can’t get out.”

The animals were found in Hoyland last week and Kath said staff are keen to see them rehomed as a pair.

“The kitten had an eye infection, which we have treated,” she added. “Often people only want the kitten, but the mum’s gorgeous too, and very affectionate.

“We think the mum is about a year old, and the kitten around six or seven weeks.”

If you can help give the cats a new home call the Arncliffe centre on 01709 760301.
