Busy night for firefighters across Rotherham

FIREFIGHTERS had to cut a person from the wreckage of a two-vehicle collision last night.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said that there were two casualties in the incident on Church Street, Swinton, at about 8pm.

Fire officers spent an hour at the scene.

A vehicle was so badly damaged out after an arson attack that its make and model could not be identified.

Officers were called to Barber Wood Road, Blackburn, last night at 8.50pm to extinguish the blaze and spent nearly an hour at the scene.

A charity recycling bin was also deliberately set alight last night in Clifton.

A fire crew was called to Carrington Street at 1.50am this morning and spent just over half-an-hour bringing the fire under control.
