Busy night for fire crews after wheelie bins torched

Firefighters from the town’s station were called to an alleyway between Durham Street and Albert Street at around 2.23am where three bins had been torche.

They were then called to put out two more bins that had been set alight close to that location.

Firefighters then received another call to put out a bin fire on Schofield Crescent shortly afterwards.

Another bin fire was put out on Muglet Lane at around 4.34am.
