DIY giant B&Q will close its Rotherham store in June - just seven years after relocating to Parkgate.

DIY giant B&Q will close its Rotherham store in June - just seven years after relocating to Parkgate.

A spokesman for the company confirmed the Rotherham Road store will be one of 60 outlets closing across the country.

He said: “We can confirm that staff at B&Q Rotherham have been told their store is set to close in June. 

“We will endeavour to find alternative positions for as many staff as possible.”

B&Q moved to Parkgate from Greasbrough Road in 2009 and a spokesman said its stores at Cortonwood Retail Park, Brampton and Queen’s Road, Sheffield, would remain open.
