Body found on playing fields
THE death of a man whose body was found on a playing field in the early hours of this morning was not suspicious, police said.
A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said they were alerted to the a body being found at Herringthorpe Playing Fields at 5.45am.
Officers found the man’s body hanging near the Middle Lane South entrance and it was believed he was in his late 40s.
Police had identified the man when the Advertiser went to press but said they were treating the death as a suicide and there were no suspicious circumstances.
