Bid to attract more foreign business to Rotherham

FOREIGN firms locating to the UK will find extra support in Rotherham, thanks to a new Soft Landings Zone project.

It is also designed to help existing businesses here take their first steps into developing business opportunities overseas.

Potential investor companies from abroad will be offered services including fully-equipped offices on flexible terms with full reception and admin support.

Rotherham Investment Development Office—the council’s regeneration arm—will also work with homegrown companies to create export-focused businesses.

RiDO business development manager Tim O’Connell said: “This project is an exciting opportunity, not only for overseas companies to use the Rotherham area as their home when they consider the UK.

“But also through links with international trade organisations to help local companies exploit potential export opportunities.”

The SLZ will be supported by EU cash and run for three years
