"Best day ever" as kids meet Santa

CHILDREN supported by Bluebell Wood passed on their Christmas lists to Santa at his Meadowhall grotto.

Twelve families visited him, including Anna and Matt Muffet with their daughter Robyn.

Anna and Matt went to the children’s hospice, where their son Ethan passed away at just a few days old after being born with a heart defect in 2014.

“We are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to take Robyn for her first visit to see Santa at Meadowhall,” said Anna.

“As always, Bluebell Wood are supporting us and helping us to create new memories with our rainbow baby, and also helping us do things with Robyn that we weren’t able to do with Ethan.”

Bluebell Wood is Meadowhall’s charity of the year for 2016 and 2017 and the shopping centre has raised £30,000 so far.

Meadowhall centre director Darren Pearce said: “It was fantastic to see the children meeting Santa and enjoying such a magical time with us.”

Five-year-old Isla Salt said: “I really enjoyed meeting Santa. It was the best day ever!”
