Ambassador role for drug and alcohol worker Kate

A PROJECT worker who gives valuable drug and alcohol advice and information to young people in Rotherham has been honoured with a new title.

Kate Boulton has been recognised as a Rotherham Ambassador for the work she does with young people and their carers and for being a positive role model.

She works for Know the Score, which is part of the substance misuse services provided in Rotherham by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust.

Kate was nominated by young people and their carers who use the service and for her work in helping people to recover from drug and alcohol misuse.

On receiving her certificate from the Mayor of Rotherham, Cllr Shaun Wright, Kate said: “It’s great to be recognised in this way.

“Young people need the right care and support to help them make the right choices in life and it's good to know the service we provide is making a difference.”

People can ring Know the Score on 01709 836047, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. Messages can be left on an answer phone outside of these hours.

The service provides confidential help and advice for young people aged under-19 who use drugs or alcohol, or have a friend or family member who does. It also provides information and training about drug and alcohol prevention and intervention to schools, youth services and local authorities.
