Amanda beats spine injuries to build gym business

A GYM owner who used pilates to help recover from a devastating car crash has opened a second women’s fitness studio in her home village.

Amanda Turner (46) needed spinal surgery after the 2008 smash and her rehabilitating exercise became her career.

Now she has re-opened premises in Woodlaithes Village, Bramley, which closed down after just three weeks under the previous management—leaving 21 members £300 out of pocket.

Amanda, now of Donstone View, Dinnington, said: “It’s been a great success so far, both the kids’ and adults classes have been the talk of the town. It’s a relief after all the bad press it received after it closed down last year.”

Inter-shape, which also runs a studio at Dinnington’s Monksbridge Community Centre, offers more than 50 classes a week including karate, street dance and yoga.

Amanda, who grew up in Bramley, said: “We’re looking forward to helping thousands more women improve their health and fitness.”
