ANOTHER 4,265 homes could be built on Rotherham’s green belt after 2028.

This is on top of the 5,534 which could be constructed during the 15-year Local Plan, currently under public consultation, new planning documents have revealed.

Rotherham Borough Council is setting aside the “safeguarded land” to support the borough’s growth in future decades.

The biggest site set aside is land off Oldcoates Road to the north of Dinnington, which could see an estate of 759 houses.
