Millers sack Scott

Published date: 20 March 2012 | Published by: Paul Rickett

On his way: Andy Scott.

ROTHERHAM United have parted company with manager Andy Scott after less than a year in charge.

The Millers this afternoon announced that 38-year-old Scott will leave the club after a string of disappointing results, which culminated in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Oxford United. That result leave Rotherham eight points adrift of the play-offs with nine to play.

The club will tonight announce who takes charge for tomorrow's game at home to Macclesfield Town.

Said a spokesman: "We thank Andy for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future. The search for a new manager will start immediately."
