Clampdown on anti-social behaviour.

VOLUNTEER police officers have been targeting anti-social behaviour hotspots in Edlington, Conisbrough, Denaby and Mexborough.

Six members of Doncaster’s Special Constabulary conducted high-visibility patrols and spoke to young people hanging round at bus shelters.

Other operations were carried out in Rossington and with British Transport Police at Doncaster Interchange.

Deputy Specials officer Adrian Fuller said: “We often get a number of reports of antisocial behaviour and criminal damage on public transport.

“These operations enable us to patrol these areas as well as the transport to catch the offenders in action.

“It also offers reassurance to passengers and the drivers of the transport who are often targeted. We will continue to conduct similar operations in the future.”
