ROTHERHAM is set to get a branch of the “IKEA of baby stores” as part of a £15m investment by online baby and nursery supplies giant Kiddicare.
The Peterborough-based retailer has taken over ten former Best Buy outlets across the UK, including the one at Parkgate Shopping in Rotherham.
It is turning them into large “destination stores” and it is expected that between 60 and 70 jobs will be created in Rotherham.
“We like to think of them as the Ikea of babycare—they’re all very large and are stores you would travel quite a distance to,” said company spokeswoman Jenny Cox.
The Parkgate Best Buys store closed last month after the US parent withdrew from the UK.
