Council rent rise shock.

COUNCILLORS have approved plans to increase social housing rents by 9.45 per cent—more than £22 a month.

It follows an 8.7 per cent rise last year and means the average council house rent is now £64.27 a week.

    "Rent rise shocker" that's as cheap as chips put down the cigs and fast food and it will look even better! if you look at the price of buying per month and what you get on average you cant beat it!

    Thanks rmbc for your generous kick in the teeth for all us hard working rent payers in rotherham with your eye watering 9.4% rent rise. As a person who is facing a pay freeze , an increase in food prices .As the article stated in the paper two thirds will not be affected , yeah thats because they claim benefits .A rise inline with inflation is bearable but to hike it by nearly double the inflation rate thats just wrong
