Car park plan for Phoenix Hotel

Published date: 18 January 2012 | Published by: Gareth Dennison

Car park plan: the Phoenix Hotel.

PLANS for a new car park to replace a landmark Rotherham pub have been submitted to Rotherham Borough Council.

The PDR Group, which owns the Phoenix Hotel, in College Street, have decided that an earlier proposal to convert the 196th century building into a cafe and offices is not financially viable.

They are now seeking permission to knock it down and build a pay-and-display car park for visitors to the town and travellers using the new railway station opposite.

More planning: Council waits on Frankie and Benny's. Latest planning applications.
