Passengers face 20-minute delays after Rotherham rail cable thieves strike

East Midlands trains are among those facing delays caused by cable thefts.

TRAIN services in South Yorkshire were being disrupted today after cable was stolen from the railway network in Rotherham.

The theft is causing a signalling problem near Fitzwilliam in the Swinton area, according to National Rail Enquiries.

CrossCountry, East Coast, East Midlands Trains and Northern Rail are the train operators affected.

The Leeds to Derby, Leeds to Peterborough and Leeds to Sheffield services are affected, with delays of up to 20 minutes expected.
