WORKS of art could help spearhead the regeneration of Rotherham town centre.

Organisers of the Gallery Town project, launched last week, are hoping that the open air displays of artworks around the town will help kickstart more trade for local businesses.

Nick Cragg, a member of the Rotherham Local Strategic Partnership Board which is behind the idea, said: "You only need to look at places like Bilbao in Spain or Liverpool, where art and culture has helped regenerate whole cities and really put these places on the map with visitors and shoppers."

Watch Gareth Dennison's video to find out why the organisers think art is the key to Rotherham's future success.
